With great sadness, we write to inform you of the death of Merle Sweet in the early hours of this morning, September 13. He is survived by his loving wife Patricia Sweet, their sons Mitchell (Tammy) and Martin (Anat), and their grandchildren Max, Elli, Solomon, and Leo, as well as many cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, Beatrice Josephine Sweet and Meyer Sweet.
Funeral services will be held at Cress Funeral Home, 3610 Speedway Road, at 1:00 pm this Sunday, September 15. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Section 36.
Shiva will be held at the home of the deceased.
- Sunday: The family will receive visitors from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. Minyan begins at 7:15 pm.
- Monday through Thursday: The family will receive calls from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with minyan at 5:30 pm.
- Friday: The family will receive calls from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.
All minyanim are hybrid (in-person and on Zoom) and will be held at Beth Israel Center's usual minyan times, with the exception of a later start on Sunday. The family will join morning minyanim according to their need. The family requests that visitors do not bring food with the expectation to share.
